It is a matter of course that every sector strives to advance and constantly bring new, innovative and attractive elements to its business – even the hotel industry. They are driven by one thing – it is the above-average fulfillment of the needs, desires and wishes of each customer’s body, spirit and mind, and these are precisely the three core elements of the holistic hotel concept.
Holistic concept = all is important
The whole secret of the holistic concept is that everything is important – when applying it to a hotel, it is necessary to look at the guest in a complex way, not just trying to fill his stomach with first-class gastronomy, bet everything on breathtaking views of nature or on spa. No. The level of all services provided must be picture-perfect so that the client can achieve the state of “absolute relaxation”.
A standard of holistic hotel concept in Slovak practice
The theoretical basis of the holistic concept has long been defined in marketing “bibles”, but its practical materialization varies depending on the business sector, but mainly on the creativity and progressive vision of people in management. In the Slovak context, an example of how to apply holistic philosophy to practice is the Galeria Thermal Hotel in Bešeňová, which is the only hotel in Slovakia that applies these principles. Thanks to its location, the hotel has beneficial geothermal water and views of Chopok and Chocske vrchy (mountains), but everything else is under the direction of the people running the hotel. And what is ‘everything else’?
Holistic eating – the first step towards a balance of physical and emotional health
The hotel is governed by their own “holistic commandments”, which “preach” to replace sugar with fruit, cook only from fresh and local organic ingredients with minimal heat treatment, reduce sodium or caffeine intake, and ready-to-cook food – that’s taboo on the holistic menu. Guests have a supply of water, tea, but also seasonal fruits and vegetables in the Fresh Zone all day.
Holistic spa – this is an unlimited universe of healing ritual
At the hotel, which follows a holistic philosophy, you don’t “only” enjoy saunas, swimming pools or jacuzzi in the spa center – here the regeneration of body, spirit and soul is taken to a whole new level. A sip of health in privacy, behind the door of your room in a private pool with geothermal water at a temperature of +/- 38 °C, that’s just a crumb of that sweet holistic cake. Unique healing spa rituals have also been developed in collaboration with experts and sauna masters, including the sound energy procedure, where the deeply relaxing effects of unique earth tones will bring you to a meditative state, as well as herbal ritual, peeling procedure, music therapy, the caress of wind or “ritual show” during which your mind in the hot sauna will be fully engaged in aromatherapy supplemented by a pinch of humor.
Last but certainly not least are the rooms – bright, spacious and airy, combining the Liptov nature – in the interior accessories with the Tatra gallery behind the tall windows.
